Impacting the lives of people suffering from very rare genetic disorders has been part of Carolina Alarco’s mission at work for more than 15 years.

Her first job in the pharmaceutical industry, in her native Peru, was as a sales representative in her early 20s, selling everything, including the so-called blockbuster drugs like antibiotics. “I loved selling, carrying the bag, visiting physicians, and presenting products,” said Alarco in a recent interview.
